Wilf Pickles

Wilf was a founding member of New Era and remained an important Trustee until his retirement in September 2021.

Wilf Pickles is a security industry professional with extensive experience in public law enforcement and the private security sector. Prior to moving to the private sector, he was a successful manager within the UK’s largest policing organisation.

With over 30 years’ experience in matters pertaining to law enforcement, crime prevention, community safety, corruption and risk management in a diverse, dynamic and challenging environment, he is well placed to make a considerable contribution to the Foundation and its work.

Aside from his work with New Era, Wilf’s extensive operational experience enables his company, BGP Global Services, to deliver a wide range of bespoke services to a diverse range of corporate and government clients worldwide.

Wilf still retains a keen interest in the development of New Era and contributes significantly to the training of new coaching staff.

Paul Elliott CBE

Paul is an Ambassador for the DIVERT Project. His focus is on introducing and promoting the DIVERT project to key stakeholders ensuring they achieve maximum reach and effectiveness.

Paul was a professional footballer and represented England at all age levels. He started his career at Charlton Athletic and then played for Luton, Aston Villa, Pisa, Celtic and Chelsea.

Following his playing successes, Paul worked within football governance and is the Chairman of the FA’s Inclusion Advisory Board. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Professional Footballers Association and the UEFA Football Committee.

His commitment to youth football and anti-racism was recognised by the award of a CBE in 2012.
